So, you’ve battled your way through January and it’s now time to look forward into February and beyond.

It’s difficult not to think about February without thoughts turning to Valentine’s Day, so if you’re looking for some romantic inspiration or have decided on visiting the capital for a romantic retreat, we’ve put together our own ‘Magnificent 7’ great ideas for Lovin’ in London – ranging from the traditional to the slightly more quirky!

At the same time, we’ve also given you a heads up on some ideal locations to stay, to make the most of your trip, so you’re not spending your valuable Valentine’s time travelling around!

1.

You and your Valentine could take in a show in London’s West End or watch a play under the stars at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Currently playing is the amazing ‘Tina – The Tina Turner Musical’, at The Aldwych Theatre or maybe the iconic Les Miserables over at Queen’s Theatre. Failing that, try the ultimate feel good love story, Mamma Mia at the Lyceum. If you fancy a bit of the Bard for Valentine’s, then Edward I or Edward II will be played out in the splendour of The Globe.

So, if you are a ‘culture vulture’, and a play is right up your street, then you’ll find some great serviced apartment lets right up our street – just click on the links below:

A good, old-fashioned romantic Meal for 2, is always a sure fire winner for Valentine’s Day in London. We’ve looked hard for some of the more interesting options, including some Joie de vivre French cuisine in Covent Garden at Clos Maggiore, Mon Plasir or Le Garrick; or head over to trendy Soho for something a little more international, like Aqua Kyoto (Japanese) or Nopi for Middle-Eastern/ Asian style sharing platters.

Over on the South Bank, you’ll find spectacular views and great food at OXO Tower and Skylon and try Hampstead Heath for the cosy Italian Mimmo La Bufala, or the classic Argentinean steak house, Gaucho.

To plan your stay better, for Hampstead Heath the closest tube would be Baker Street, approximately 5 minutes way on the Jubilee Line. You’ll find some ideal apartments by clicking on the links below.

For Covent Garden & Soho there are some amazing serviced lets, such as:

And for Southbank check out these serviced apartments:

Remember, you can also use Covent Garden to get over towards Southbank, as it’s a lovely walk over the Golden Jubilee Bridges from Covent Garden.

A really nice way to enjoy London, at any time of the year is to take a cruise down the Thames. Right now there’s some great deals to be had on the ‘Hop on, hop off’ style cruises, so you really can do as you wish, all the way from Westminster to Canary Wharf or, for something more romantic, try a special Valentine’s cruise, running both day and night options and exclusive private cruises, if you really want to push the boat out… not literally of course!

Here’s a few options for some great London serviced apartments right along the winding River Thames:

Something a little different to do is to enjoy the London sunset from one of the many iconic London skyscrapers. There are lots of places you can do this from, including the The Shard, the Gherkin (St Mary Axe), the Leadenhall Building (The Cheese Grater), amongst others.

Or, maybe try out the Emirates Air Line, where you can take to the air on London’s only cable car and enjoy a truly unique experience in east London.

As always, we’ve some great suggestions for some serviced stays, to help you enjoy these breathtaking and slightly different things to do:

High above Knightsbridge and Belgravia, overlooking the twinkling lights of west London, The Berkeley hotel’s magical rooftop cinema has recently reopened for the winter.

It’s a really wonderful setting, where you can book for screenings of classic romantic films, with cosy seats, fluffy cushions, fleecy snug rugs and hot water bottles to keep you warm. It’s actually London’s only private cinema (with just eight seats), but you’ll be offered mulled wine and hot chocolate in a ‘toasty’ mug to keep your hands warm.

Of course, there’s a special winter market-style, where you can pre-order hot and cold food and drinks, including champagne.

You can find great places to stay to really make the most of this really special experience by checking out our west London serviced apartments.

Back on the water now, for something that’s a real talking point at a party – a ‘Hot Tug’! Just to be clear, this is not just a hot tub on a boat… This hot tub IS a boat!

Fresh water is pumped in for each trip, and heated up to a balmy 38 degrees by the on-board wood stove, which also generates a lovely ‘sauna-like’ atmosphere!

Even better, you are completely in charge the boat’s route, so you can explore the waterways at your leisure during a 90-minute experience.

On the route you can explore Canary Wharf’s glittering skyscrapers, Billingsgate Market and the Giant Robot street food building from a new angle – a route that’s particularly impressive at night.

It’s been a London landmark for almost 20 years now – originally commemorating the new Millennium – and now the London Eye is the most popular paid tourist attraction in the UK.

So, where better to sit back and enjoy the breathtaking views of our great capital city, complete with a glass of fizzy and maybe even a choccy tasting experience?!

There are lots of special romantic packages available, for Valentine’s Day and, who knows, it could be an amazing place to say ‘I do’ – or should that be ‘Eye do’?!

For the perfect place to stay, check out our great serviced apartments below – the Covent Garden options offer an option to walk over the Golden Jubilee Bridges.

We hope this blog has given you some ideas and inspiration for your visit to London this February, whether you’re here just to enjoy a romantic weekend away or you’ve got an all-important question to ask your significant other!
